July: Celebrating summer with reunions, certifications, exciting client announcements and holiday dreaming

Monthly Round-up.png

t’s hard to believe that we are already at the end of July and what an unusual summer it has been! 2020 continues to keep us on our toes, and our team continues to ‘lean in’ to the curveballs, holding on tightly to our agile ethos. Here’s a look at what our team got up to in July. We hope you enjoy our round-up!

A taste of Normality

As lockdown restrictions began to ease slightly, this month we finally got out and about to meet up with our clients, and even carry out a photo call in the city centre! It might not seem like ground-breaking stuff, but there’s not much that beats face to face interactions and getting out of the office ‘on the job’.

We also welcomed the return of in-person meetings and took advantage of the opportunity to meet up for team meetings, brainstorming sessions, training and a good old natter. We’ve always been advocates of using technology to work remotely and on-the-go, but we’ve really found the value in face time during these strange few months and are making the most of opportunities for us to all be together to bounce ideas, plan for the future, and exchange ideas for our clients.

Client Success Stories

It was great to have the opportunity to communicate so many achievements and success stories on behalf of our clients throughout July.  The month kicked off by helping the Consumer Code for Online Dispute Resolution to announce funding of almost £50,000 from UK Research and Innovation’s Innovate UK. This was punctuated with a great spread of coverage on the rise of mediation in the Business Post.

Victor Mee Auctions celebrated the success of their online auctions and announced more auctions to come in August as bidders are expected to tune in online from around the world to bid on key Irish Pub Memorabilia & Collectibles lots.

Following the success of its online webinars, Grant Engineering has now reopened its ever-popular installer training academy and is looking forward to welcoming attendees who can learn more about the company’s innovative heating products at its state-of-the-art facilities in Co. Offaly.

Parr Group reflected on its teams’ admirable efforts to support local residents during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic by releasing a video which our team produced to showcase their efforts across Northern Ireland. Parr Group’s activities included helping the elderly and vulnerable along with those working on the front line for the NHS.

We also took advantage of the sunshine that July gave us by organising and executing a photo shoot featuring wind turbines across County Down to build on the image bank for 3T Power as the progress on their new website and brand roll-out continues!

Impact is now a fully ‘Google Certified’ team!

We revel in the joy of continuous learning and improving our knowledge for both ourselves and our clients.

As the demand for digital communications has grown over the past years, we have grown with it. We focused our developmental efforts in July by challenging ourselves to formalise our wide digital marketing skillset and are proud to announce that our full team is now Google Certified, with all of us achieving our qualifications in ‘The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing’!

In addition, we have been tuning in to CIPR’s webinars where we can and really enjoyed the insights shared during the ‘Creating inclusive cultures’ webinar. It was great to get the panel’s thoughts on the importance of diversity in our industry, what we could all do better, and how the Blueprint has been introduced to ensure the promotion of a racially diverse future for PR and comms.

We also continued to recognise the importance of mental fitness and wellbeing in achieving success in the workplace, taking learnings from mental fitness advisor Daryl Woodhouse. You can read our blog post on our session with Daryl here

Staycation or Vacation?

Our team has worked hard over the last few months, so naturally July brought with it thoughts of rewarding ourselves with summer breaks with family and friends. Although the big question was: Do we book a staycation on the coast or a vacation to warmer climates?

Julie went south to Sligo and opted for a staycation with her family and friends where she was almost coaxed into taking on the Irish waves (unfortunately, we’ve only been given picture evidence of our younger Impact recruits!) Brittany has revived her love for open-water swimming throughout July and will continue to embrace the water (without a wet suit may we add!) this weekend as she takes a well-earned break on the North Coast. As for Bryony, she is still holding on to the hope that she will get her holiday in the sun next month, no matter how unlikely it seems right now!

Another fun and interesting month for Team Impact, as always we’re excited to see what the next month brings.

Team Impact. x
