Established over 50 years ago by founder and luthier George Lowden, County Down-based Lowden Guitars has created high-quality guitars for some of the world’s best-known musicians including Paul Brady, Jon Gomm, Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Damien Rice, Eric Clapton and Ed Sheeran, among others. Learning to manufacture guitars ‘the hard way’ through self teaching, George Lowden’s focus has always been on craftsmanship, quality and experimentation with new shapes and innovations.
His collaboration with Ed Sheeran on the Sheeran by Lowden brand of guitars has introduced the Lowden brand of guitars to a whole new generation of up and coming guitarists. Combining the quality for which Lowden is synonymous with technological innovations that have made this brand of guitars more accessible to young players, Sheeran by Lowden has garnered considerable acclaim from within the music industry and players around the world.
